The client
Client came in framed as a four-industry pivoter (mortgage, healthcare, property restoration) with a generic operations manager resume: no metrics, no strategic thesis, no target role positioning. He wanted remote financial services operations roles but his resume pointed at healthcare administration jobs.
The diagnosis
The real issue was not the career. The career was not broken, the reading of it was. He was actually a financial services professional returning to the industry with 17 years of regulated-environment operations layered on top of his loan operations foundation.
What I did
Rebuilt both resume and LinkedIn around that thesis. Repositioned the 2008 exit as a market event, not a personal one. Reframed the healthcare and property restoration decades as documentation, billing, compliance, and client-facing operations proof.
Added 18 verified metrics across the experience section. Delivered a 15-keyword competency block mapped to the target role taxonomy. Ran 22 bullets with 22 unique lead verbs, zero em dashes, zero cliches, full ATS compliance.
The result
Two documents that now read as a single coherent professional narrative, positioning him for the roles he actually wanted rather than the ones his resume was accidentally pointing at.
The career was not broken. The reading of it was.
